Fall Planting for Birds

Posted by Linda Pittman on

fall berries  You enjoy looking at flowers all year, so choose some fall bloomers that will bring birds in for you to enjoy as well. Perennials are flowers that come back year after year, and are a great choice. Fall flowers that are full of nectar for nectar eaters like hummingbirds could be Nasturtiums or Four O'Clocks. Seed bearing flowers could be Marigold or the obvious Sunflowers. Leave those seed heads on your flowers all winter to help provide food for your birds. Fruits that ripen in the fall are Crabapple, Elderberry and Grapes.  There are many more types of plants for each specific area
